Award Ceremony for AFRISO-EURO-INDEX in Berlin Certifcate ' berufundfamilie® ' (work and family)
On 19th June, 2007 Mr. Elmar Fritz, Dipl.-VW and Managing Director of AFRISO-EURO-INDEX, Gueglingen accepted at a public ceremony in Berlin from the Minister of State for Families, Dr. Ursula von der Leyen, and the Parliamentary Secretary of State for Industry, Dagmar Woehrl, the Award Certificate 'berufundfamilie®'. The number of employers who utilise the audit 'berufundfamilie®' as a strategic management tool for reconciling work and family life has now risen to more than 500.
But what does this certificate 'berufundfamilie®' really tell us ? How useful is it ? And above all the question: Who benefits from it ? The pleasing answer: In fact everybody! Elmar Fritz comments: "Although we have persued family- and employee-friendly company policies over many years, we still gladly engaged the help of the 'berufundfamilie®' foundation. We would have probably managed by ourselves, but the ideas, aims and measures would have probably not turned out to be quite as qualified. The result: 51 measures which bring many advantages to our employees and also long term advantages to our company; because only the person who likes to go to work, can really achieve something."
The Minister of State for Families, Ursula von der Leyen stated: "A new era has begun - family-friendly times. The Parliamentary Secretary of State for Industry and technology, Mrs. Dagmar Woehrl, stated at the award ceremony: "German Industry and, in particular, the medium-sized companies need qualified employees. Only family friendly work places make for a win-win situation for employees and companies. The companies who were today awarded certificates are exemplary models for the benefits which family conscious personnel policy brings to both sides. In addition, it ensures an invaluable market advantage when looking for new qualified employees."
The audit 'berufundfamilie®' is a continuous process whereby every three years checks are carried out regarding the progress made towards the achievement of the goals which were set. In order to be authorised to continue to carry the certificate, the Auditors will continue to carry out future audits at 3-yearly intervals. To AFRISO this certificate is proof for its family conscious company culture.
