Responsible use of natural resources and environmental protection are matters close to AFRISO’s heart, not merely current trends. Wherever possible, ecological considerations shape our business processes. Investments in our buildings and facilities have demonstrated this commitment for decades. For us, operating sustainably means securing long-term business success.
Our business property in Güglingen is over 4 hectares in size. 38 % of this area are covered by buildings, 32 % are traffic areas and parking lots and 30 % are green space. More than 160 trees and 270 bushes create a "green lung". Our employees like to relax in the park-like area during breaks. In addition, orchard trees matching the cultural landscape, flower meadows as well as green roof areas are available as habitat and food supply for insects or our own AFRISO bee colonies.
AFRISO was honoured for this commitment at an early stage: In 1988, our company received a special award from the district of Heilbronn for the "Design and Greening of Commercial and Industrial Areas", and in 1999 the Environmental Award of the Association of Independent Businesses (ASU).
Ecological responsibility has always taken centre stage at AFRISO. We are currently implementing a comprehensive transformation concept for climate neutrality. The goal: climate-neutral production at the Güglingen and Amorbach sites by 2033.
As early as 1998, we registered our company as per European Eco Management and Audit Scheme (EMAS) and had it certified according to ISO 14001. Since the ISO certification has a greater significance on an international scale, today we only have the ISO certification.
Our goal: Climate-neutral production at the Güglingen and Amorbach sites by 2033. The specific roadmap for this was drawn up in cooperation with the VEA initiative "Klimafreundlicher Mittelstand" ("Climate-friendly SMEs").
