The AFRISOhome smart home app

The app allows you to monitor and control all devices in your home in a very simple way. All data is displayed in easy-to-understand diagrams so that you always have an overview of the temperatures, power consumption and other information.

Easy operation

PROgrams let you automate sequences using if-then functions; they are displayed in the app and easy to manage. For example, you can trigger repetitive functions at fixed points in time or create more complex programs which make your life easier and safer.

The Group function allows you to conveniently control entire groups of devices. For example, you can switch all lights in the living room in a single go. This way, you do not have to switch the lights on or off individually.

Not quite sure you really closed your windows? No problem – with the app you can check the status while you are on the road and even close the window blinds or roller shutters.

Operating instructions

1. Commission the gateway

The AFRISOhome gateway is easy to set up with the AFRISOhome app. Scan the QR code and the app will intuitively guide you through all the necessary settings. This video presents the commissioning procedure step by step.

2. Add device

Once you have set up the AFRISOhome gateway, you can add any number of devices from the AFRISO smart home system with just a few taps. In addition, over 320 compatible sensors and actuators from other manufacturers are available that work directly with the system based on EnOcean, Zigbee or Z-Wave wireless technology. WLAN components can also be added. This video shows how easy it is to connect a smart device to the AFRISOhome gateway using the AFRISOhome app.

3. Create automated smart home processes with the AFRISOhome app and PROgrams

Smart home simple and intuitive. The "PROgrams" function in the AFRISOhome app is a key element for the automated operation of the AFRISO smart home system. They allow you to define automated processes based on measured values from sensors or on the states of the actuators. This video shows how easy it is to create them with “if-and-then” links and also receive a push notification on the smartphone for each event.

4. Create widgets on the home screen of the AFRISOhome app

You can create widgets to keep the AFRISOhome app clear and concise even if you use numerous components. The home screen of the app – the HOME area – provides information on the most important events in your smart home. You can select status messages from sensors or actuators, as well as smart widgets (for example, all safety-related devices), PROgrams, scenarios or groups. This video provides step by step instructions for setting up a window sensor as a widget.

5. Create additional users in the app

In order to adapt the AFRISO smart home system to the needs of multiple users, there are various settings available for personalisation. If the system is used by multiple users, it is advisable to create additional users. They can then use their own smartphone or tablet to receive messages in the smart home and, depending on their user role, create their own PROgrams, for example.
