Our path to climate neutrality up to 2033

The photo shows our new 162 kWp PV system. Step by step towards CO2 - we are getting there.

Following the digitalisation of all building plans and an inventory of all energy-relevant data, we received a 73-page report from our external energy consultants with 24 energy efficiency measures – 19 for Güglingen and 5 for Amorbach. The estimated total costs amount to EUR 770,000. We prioritised these measures in June and planned their implementation within a period of six years.
However, the main challenge is not yet included in this catalogue of measures: It concerns our heating system at Lindenstraße 20. We had commissioned two different energy consultants to develop solutions to this problem. One of them was in favour of heat pumps including comprehensive heat insulation of the building, while the other opted for heating with self-produced hydrogen. The estimated investment for both options were EUR 4 to 5 million each. We have postponed the decision to closely monitor the future development and determine the optimum solution. A sufficient supply of climate-neutral e-fuels (synthetic fuels) at affordable prices at a point in time in the next few years would be most attractive.
